*Meaning     Good Friday is a Christian holiday that is observed on the Friday before Easter Sunday. It is the day on which Christians commemorate the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ, who is considered by them to be the Son of God. The term "good" in Good Friday may come from the phrase "God's Friday," or it may simply mean "holy." *Why is it called good Friday?        There are different theories about the origin of the term "Good Friday," but one commonly accepted explanation is that "good" means "holy" or "pious" in this context. Therefore, Good Friday is the day on which Christians remember the holy sacrifice made by Jesus Christ when he was crucified and died for the forgiveness of sins. Despite the sorrow and suffering that Jesus endured on this day, it is considered "good" because it led to the ultimate triumph of his resurrection on Easter Sunday. *History Of Good Friday.          Good Fri...

Mahaveer Jayanti in India , when it is , how it's celebrated, it's history and wishes.

Lord Mahaveer was born in the godown of a carpenter named Jayanti by the name of Pradeep in Kerala. Pradeep was employed as a carpenter. He was living with Jayanti in Kullanad, near Periyar River. One day he was having lunch with a few friends. As he was sitting under the tree eating the food he noticed the moon shining bright, the place was very beautiful and romantic. Pradeep then fell in love with the beauty of that night, in that very moment a rainbow appeared in the sky. He felt joy and was about to express his feelings to Jayanti. As he opened the door to the house she saw the rainbow and was very upset with her husband for entering in the house and ignoring her, as she felt she had lost her beauty in that sudden darkness. The rainbow turned black and disappeared. Jayanti and Mahaveer were not friends to begin with. She was jealous of him for being rich and had more respect for her father, her mother and sister. Jayanti prayed to lord Mahavishnu to be her husband. She was curious and wanted to learn the power of god himself. She used to visit temples daily, she always touched the feet of god and took a photo with him. She also used to do whatever she liked. As she knew the power of god herself she was not bothered with anything. She used to go in the temple and get some spiritual power for herself. One day Jayanti got a message from lord Mahavishnu that he was her husband, his elder brother called Abhiram had misused his powers and cursed him to get old. He also warned that she would get old as well. He wanted her to be in contact with him as she was feeling lonely and needed help. He wanted her to come to the Himalayas in the Himalayas.

She knew that she would be weak in her old age. So she decided to go there. She was worried that her sister and mother might get into trouble if they come in search of her. As the Himalayas were very distant and difficult to get to, she felt confused. How could she reach there? At the same time Lord Mahavishnu told her that she would reach there. He told her that he would tell her the way and he said that she had to drink certain herbs which would protect her from all sorts of calamities. Jayanti was very confused and sad at the same time. She was about to give up and her husband had to go to India to bring more medicines to cure her and bring back her sister and mother. Jayanti gave up her good life and wanted to be in the Himalayas. She started drinking different herbs. The medicines took time to take effect and she got worried. As she was feeling very weak she started screaming and crying. Jayanti got scared seeing that she was not dying but dying slowly. She started crying loudly and went into a trance. She could hear someone screaming for help.

As she was in that deep trance she was looking at a mountain peak. She was afraid but she had faith in god. So she started praying for help from god. A couple of times she felt that god was calling her to his kingdom but she did not know why. Eventually she felt tired and could not go further. As she was not satisfied she decided to return home. As she got up she was shocked and surprised to see god standing on the mountain peak. God was smiling, saying to her, "Look at me, I have come from the sky and landed on your head. I have come here to protect you from evil and to keep you safe." That was the time when Jayanti started believing god. She believed that god had helped her to reach there and saved her. She started praying god and he did not desert her. She found that god could listen to her prayers and give her anything he wanted. She asked god to be her husband, she also asked god to give her a good husband. She got to know that god never abandoned a person even if he was in a deep trance. She started believing in god and her husband too.
